Why the borrowing answer comes first

Most people who land on a broker's website arrive with one question: how much can I borrow? If the answer is a few clicks away, tucked at the bottom of the page or behind a contact form, a lot of them leave before they find it. They search again and find someone who answers straight away.

Putting an instant borrowing tool at the top of the homepage answers that question in the first screen. A good one also asks for details after it gives the number, so the broker gets the visitor's whole picture before the first call. More on this in our guide to what a broker website calculator should do.

Common questions

What does the broker website check look at?

Where a visitor can find out how much they can borrow (and how far down the page that is), whether the site is built for phones, how fast the first response is, whether it has a title, description and structured data for Google, whether the phone number is tap-to-call, and how recently the footer was updated.

Is the website check free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and nothing is stored about your site except an anonymous count. If you want to see your homepage with the Borrowing Profile Engine at the top, you can ask for a private preview at the end.

Why does the position of the borrowing calculator matter so much?

How much can I borrow is the first question most people bring to a broker's website. When the answer is a few clicks away or at the bottom of the page, many visitors leave before they find it. Putting the tool at the top of the homepage answers it straight away and gives the broker the visitor's details.

Can I check a competitor's website?

You can check any public website. The check reads the homepage the way a visitor's browser would and does not log in or look behind any forms.

The Borrowing Profile Engine

Have a go as if you were a client. On your site it sits at the top of your homepage, in your colours, and sends you their whole picture.
